The Greek Titan of the Sun is represented not as one fruit, but as the ripened fruit of the Summer harvest. I chose a red glass cab to honor Helios, and the bright Strawberries I associate with the dog days of Summer as the tiny wild ones creep over my yard and intermingle with the Clover. These fruits are seen as resilient, with their seeds growing on the outside of the Berry and in many old stories spanning across cultures represent love, dedication and purification. The Pendant itself was carved in wax and individually sand cast in studio with recycled Sterling with the setting for the glass cab done by hand. This hefty Sun hangs from 18 inches on a fixed chain and ends in a fish hook clasp, meant to serve as a talisman of warmth for the Winter days ahead.
